Ebbsfleet Garden City

Project Description

Appointed by the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) to secure funding, investment and development of Ebbsfleet Garden City for Ebbsfleet Development Corporation.

 

Facilitating inward investment and regeneration of over 2500 acres (1000 hectares) of brownfield land to enable the development of up to 15,000 new homes at pace in Ebbsfleet, North Kent required a detailed understanding of UK Government client requirements and conducted regular engagement and reporting to the DCLG, HM Treasury, Cabinet Office, senior management team and Board.

 

  • Secured £310 million of public sector investment funding from the Chancellor in the 2015 Autumn Statement, establishing the business case for integrated housing, property and transport and hubs with environmental, community and green space benefits, and helping to gain Enterprise Zone status and employment opportunities with the extension of North Kent Innovation Zone.

 

  • Established new asset investment and development strategies, business cases, programmes and projects including highways, transportation, roads, rail, structures and utility infrastructure, landfill remediation, energy and waste projects community facilities, public realm and open space, creating the £310 million 5-year capital development programme

 

  • Led procurement and engagement with professional services providers and supply chains, the development management of £125 million of early stage city-wide investment projects including new potable and foul water, electricity, gas and fibre infrastructure and facilities with 5km of primary infrastructure corridors. Helped facilitate the programme office, supported local business and community stakeholders.
